Light Blocking Microcentrifuge Tubes

Microfuge tubes are used for a wide range of research lab applications, including enzyme digests, DNA isolation/purification, centrifugation, incubation, and general sample/reagent storage. Opaque black microcentrifuge tubes are composed of polypropylene plastic and offer UV protection for use with light sensitive specimens.

SureSeal™ microcentrifuge tubes are designed for use in temperatures ranging from -90° C to +121° C. The attached lids provide a tight, leak proof seal, yet can be easily opened and closed. The micro tube cap center is also syringe permeable. The SureSeal conical centrifuge tubes are sterile and RNase, DNase, and pyrogen free. These lab tubes can withstand a maximum centrifugal force of 28,000 xg.

Five-O™ Macro Tubes™ are a scaled down version of standard 15mL conical tubes that feature space and resource preservation. The scaled down graduated tube length reduces contamination and the included screw caps seal with one 360° turn. The plastic tubes can be used in temperatures ranging from -86° C to 110° C for boiling or sample preservation at very low temperatures. Each pack comes with foam racks for upright storage and is sterile. These laboratory centrifuge tubes can withstand a maximum centrifugal force of 25,000 xg.

Macro Tubes™ with snap caps provide a tight, leak-proof seal, and can be opened with one hand. The cap is designed to provide a secure seal from -86° C to +80° C. These graduated centrifuge tubes have the same diameter as standard 15mL tubes for compatibility with centrifuge rotors, and their compact size reduces waste, storage space, and shipping costs. These microcentrifuge tubes are also RNase and DNase free, but are non-sterile. Like the Five-O™ Macro Tubes™, they can withstand a maximum centrifugal force of 25,000 xg.

Light Blocking Western Blot Boxes

Western blotting is a technique often used by research and clinical labs to detect proteins with their specific antibody and to transfer proteins from gel to membrane and subsequent membrane processing. SKS carries opaque black western blot boxes, which are made of polystyrene and are correctly matched to fit common blot sizes. Polystyrene plastic is rigid, easy to mould, and cost efficient, making these lab boxes easily disposable. They feature 90° angle corners and uniformly flat bottom surfaces. Four different sizes allow additional blots to fit on lab shakers and lab rockers, while reducing antibody usage. The easy to open hinged lid minimizes evaporation. These opaque black blot boxes can be used with halves, wholes, strips, or minis. The B1300-8BK is for use with Novex™ mini-gels.
