Sterile Polystyrene Petri Dishes

The 100 mm red, blue, amber, and clear polystyrene triple vent Petri dishes are ideal for identifying different batches of work in laboratories, and other sterile situations. The dimensional consistency of these dishes makes them the first choice for use with automatic plate pourers. All petri dishes are manufactured under strict aseptic conditions. Dishes come sterile and packed in sturdy polyethylene sleeves.These petri dishes are a staple for any lab environment.

• Made of FDA-approved general purpose polystyrene plastic
• Available standard and colored
• Colored dishes made from cadium free colorants
• Triple vented - lid is slightly elevated above base to allow for air exchange. Useful when evaporation is necessary
• Manufactured within a Class J clean room which complies with BS-5295 and remain in clean room conditions throughout manufacturing process
• In-house microbiology laboratory performs all necessary testing including that of sterility
• Conform to BS 611 Part II, which involves stringent control of rigidity, thermal resistance, stackability and dimensional consistency
• Packed in sturdy polyethylene sleeves that exceed BS 611 Part II
• Inner liner compartments the carton and ensures that Petri dishes arrive in perfect condition

• All disposable Petri dishes are manufactured in accordance with the Quality System Standard ISO 9002
• Unless specified otherwise, all Petri dishes are manufactured under aseptic conditions
• The following procedures exist to assure final sterility of the product:
  1. Where applicable, Petri dishes are manufactured to BS611 Part II: 1991 BS611 testing for:
     • • Rigidity - lid and base
     • • Resistance to thermal distortion
     • • Resistance to fracture - lid and base
     • • Stability in stacking
     • • Dimensional checks
  2. Verification of product clean room conditions in accordance with British Standard 5295. "Environmental Cleanliness in enclosed spaces."
  3. Verification of the integrity of the packaging bags
  4. Sterility testing of the final product on a statistical basis, using British Standard 6000/1 sampling plans.One sleeve (20 dishes) of product is taken from each machine daily. It is tested using Nutrient agar incubated at 30/32°C for 5 days in accordance with Department of Health recommendations. Daily inspection of the dishes takes place
