Disposable Bins

SKS carries many disposable bins for glass, biohazards, plastic recycling, and non-hazardous waste. Each type of lab bin is designed with unique and identifiable graphics, so every bin is easily discernible from the rest. Assembly instructions are printed on each box, and all can be folded down for convenient shipment or storage. These disposable lab bins come in three sizes: bench, intermediate, and floor. Each bin is lined with a polyethylene bag to prevent leakage and includes a top closure, which allows items to be disposed of safely and hygienically.

Safety Coated Bottles

SKS offers media bottles, reagent bottles, reservoir bottles, and BOD bottles (or incubation bottles) for storing fluids, dry chemicals, and other lab materials. These safety coated bottles are made of borosilicate glass and laminated with either a slip resistant plastisol coating or KimCote® safety coating. The coating increases durability, prevents leakage, and keeps glass shards and bottle contents contained if the bottle is dropped. Reservoir bottles and BOD bottles are also coated with a UV blocking agent, making them ideal for light sensitive samples. Each of these bottles is autoclavable.

Bench Matting & Liners

SKS also carries the highly absorbent BenchGuard and BenchGuard Extra lab mats. These bench liners have a tough poly-coated base, which prevents spills from soaking through to protect work surfaces. BenchGuard can absorb 1.5 times more per square inch than standard lab matting, whereas BenchGuard Extra can absorb 3 times more. Another option is the clear PE heavyweight matting. This ribbed bench matting is 5 times as thick as regular shelf liner and contains any spilled solid material, such as dirt or glass. All bench matting is tear resistant and available in either pre-cut sheets or a full roll.

Hazardous Labels

SKS stocks an abundance of hazardous labels, all of which are printed on scratch and scuff resistant gloss paper. All laboratory labels are backed with permanent adhesive, which will stick to a variety of surfaces even in cold temperatures. Biological substance labels are required for all packages containing animal specimens or human specimens being transported for diagnostic or research purposes. Biohazard labels are universal and meet OSHA requirements for bio-hazardous materials. Package orientation labels are also internationally recognized and are mandatory for any liquids being transported. Keep from Heat labels are required for any highly flammable or self-reacting materials that are shipped by air.
