Product Spotlight - Glass & Plastic Beakers

SKS Science provides an extensive range of glass and plastic beakers in a variety of styles to offer the best option for your laboratory needs.

Glass Beakers

For laboratories that require or prefer glass supplies, SKS Science offers beaker starter packs and individual beakers. Each is composed of 33 expansion low extractable borosilicate glass, making them compliant with USP Type I ASTM E4438, Type I Class A requirements, and ASTM Specification E960, Type III requirements. All glass beakers include a matte writing area that is compatible with ordinary pencils and can be erased for reuse. Glass beakers are durable for use with hotplates and highly resistant to chemical leaching and thermal shock. The glass beaker design includes a pour spout and beaded rim for better control and drip prevention. Glass Beakers

Low form glass beakers in 10 ml to 4,000 ml capacities include slightly flared beaded tops with spouts for controlled pouring. White, easy to read measurements are permanently printed onto the glass beakers for accuracy while measuring or mixing. Choose between small and large case pack options in sizes ranging from 10 ml to 1,500 ml.

Tall form glass beakers feature capacity options ranging from 100 ml to 1,000 ml and offer the same durable construction as low form glass beakers, in a taller, more slender style. The permanent white graduation marks printed on these beakers include a double capacity scale for additional accuracy.

Low form heavy duty glass beakers offer a similar style with a stronger composition in sizes ranging from 250 ml to 4,000 ml. These heavy duty glass beakers are able to withstand daily use over long periods of time. The thick walls of the beakers form strong barriers and reduce the chance of shattering if dropped.

Polypropylene Plastic Beakers

Polypropylene plastic beakers can be purchased in starter kits, bundle sets, or individually in the sizes needed. Polypropylene provides barriers against moisture, as well as resistance towards acid, grease, oils, aldehydes, bases, esters, ethers, and ketone compounds, allowing these plastic beakers to be used to measure a variety of liquids. The Griffin style polypropylene plastic beaker starter kit includes one 50 ml, 100 ml, 250 ml, and 1,000 ml size beaker for a basic starting set. Each size includes molded graduations in millimeters, a no-drip pouring spout, and can be autoclaved between uses.

Polypropylene beakers are autoclavable, shatter-resistant, and include permanent blue graduations for easy reading. The beaker necks are constructed with vertical lips around the top and a spout to contain spillage when pouring. These plastic beakers are stackable for easier storage. Reusable polypropylene square ratio beakers feature a shape that is easy to handle and store. They are available in sets of three with one 250 ml, 500 ml, and 1,000 ml size each. SKS Science also offers polypropylene square ratio beakers in combo sets of five with one each of the 50 ml, 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, and 1,000 ml sizes.

Polypropylene Beakers SKS Science provides polypropylene beakers with handles for added control when pouring. Low form and tall form polypropylene beakers feature handles for a secure grip, as well as molded graduations in milliliters and liters on each beaker size. These beakers are autoclavable, include pouring spouts, and are transparent for precise readings while measuring. Polypropylene beakers with blue printed measurements are also available. 500 ml and 1,000 ml size beakers feature blue printed English and metric measurements on both sides for left and right-handed users. The thumb grip handle on the beakers offers an ergonomic hold using one hand and reduces hand fatigue.

Disposable polypropylene beakers include molded graduations, spouted lips for conveniently pouring from various sides, and heavy walls for stability when mixing and filling. These beakers are autoclavable, highly durable, and considered disposable for a more economic option. These versatile polypropylene beakers in 50 ml to 5,000 ml sizes are available in cases of 100 for stocking larger labs or various application needs. These beakers are also autoclavable and the molded graduations will not degrade after many cleanings. SKS Science has polypropylene beakers in10 ml to 2,000 ml sizes with blue graduations. The graduated beakers are also autoclavable, and include vertical lips with a pouring spout. These beakers are stackable for condensed storage and convenient organization in both small and large laboratories.

PMP Plastic Beakers

PMP (polymethylpentene) is a crystal clear plastic that provides moisture barriers and is resistant to acids, grease, oils, esters, bases, aldehydes, and alcohols, making it ideal for use with a range of compounds. PMP is autoclavable and sterilized by gas, dry heat, and chemical disinfectant. It has workable temperatures between 356 ° F / 180 ° C to -32 ° F / -36 ° C. The PMP beaker starter kit includes one each of the 50 ml, 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, and 1,000 ml sizes, each of which features molded graduations in millimeter increments. These user-friendly beakers include pouring spouts for controlled use and reduced spilling.

PMP Beakers Clear PMP beakers are available in sizes ranging from 50 ml to 2,000 ml and are high clarity, offering a similar appearance to glass. Graduated millimeter measurements are molded on the beakers for accurate reading during the lifetime of the beakers. The flared top includes a pouring spout to assist in spill reductions. A slightly different style with red graduations is available in sizes from 25 ml to 2,000 ml for easier reading. The pouring spout is molded into a lip to reduce spillage and allow for stacking when not in use. Both beaker styles are autoclavable and not recommended for use with hotplates.

PTFE & HDPE Plastic Beakers

PTFE BeakersPTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is a plastic compound that is virtually resistant to all chemical compositions and can be used with temperatures ranging from 500° F/260 ° C to -328 ° F / -200 ° C. PTFE beakers are available in a range of sizes from 1 ml to 5,000 ml, white opaque in color, and tapered with a slim pouring spout. These beakers feature a smooth finish inside and out that offers effortless cleaning between uses. SKS Science offers PTFE watch glass clovers for pairing with PTFE beakers. The watch glass covers are molded from virgin PTFE and include smooth surfaces for easy cleaning as well. The PTFE watch glass covers are available in sizes to match each beaker and reduce the risk of contamination during compound storage.

PTFE heatable beakers in 100ml, 250 ml, and 400 ml sizes can be used alongside heating applications with no distortion. The composition can also be used with caustic compounds for long term laboratory use. The tapered style and added lip offers pouring with minimal spillage and splashing when dealing with heated caustic liquids.

HDPE plastic is a recognizable and popular material used to create beakers due to its resistance to many compounds and capability of creating heavier containers, while maintaining a lightweight feel. Heavy wall HDPE beakers are available in five sizes and feature a double pouring top, molded graduations, and walls that reduce distortion during long term use. The opaque beakers are FDA approved and are designed to allow nesting during use.
