Product Spotlight - Glass and Plastic Volumetric Flasks

PMP volumetric flasks include white polypropylene screw caps and are available in capacities ranging from 25 ml to 1,000 ml. PMP is highly durable with excellent moisture barriers and resistance to acids, alcohol, and bases. These volumetric flasks also have a good cold, aldehyde, and ester resistances and feature a maximum temperature of 180° C. Each size includes Class B calibrated ring markings for high accuracy and can be autoclaved between uses.

PFA volumetric flasks with matching PFA screw closures are highly useful. PFA plastic is highly resistant to a wide range of components, has a maximum temperature of 270° C, can be autoclaved at 121° C without affecting tolerances, and features very low absorption and permeability levels. The volumetric flasks composed of this versatile material include accurate and permanent graduation markings, are calibrated TC (to contain), can be sterilized using various methods, and reach Class A tolerances per DIN EN ISO 1042, ASTM E 288, E 542, and E 694 standards. Paired with the volumetric flasks are PFA leak proof screw closures, which include a molded sealing ring that creates a hermetic seal. These flasks can produce excellent results in ICP-MS, storage of trace analysis standards, isotope separations, sample digestions, and more.

Polypropylene plastic is constructed with excellent moisture barriers and offers good resistance to heat, aldehydes, bases, esters, hydrocarbon, and ketones. Both styles of polypropylene volumetric flasks are molded to Class B tolerances and are autoclavable. They feature tooled necks, mixing chambers at the top, and temperatures clearly printed in green on each flask. Volumetric flasks with red polypropylene stoppers are available in five sizes, and the volumetric flasks with white polypropylene stoppers consist of six sizes.

Clear glass volumetric flasks are offered in an extensive range of sizes and are constructed with heavy-duty uniform glass walls for excellent durability and safety. These volumetric flasks are graduated with Class A tolerances and include permanent white printed flask capacities for quick identification. The wider necks provide easier pipette access and flat bottoms improve the use of standard stir bars, making these glass volumetric flasks easy to use during various laboratory applications.

SKS Science also offers clear glass volumetric flasks that are constructed using the Ray-Sorb process for an additional liquid barrier. The Ray-Sorb process coats the glass volumetric flasks with a durable and uniform UV protection coating for liquids that container photolabile and photosensitive components. The Ray-Sorb coating allows less than 1% light transmission below 400 nm and 5% transmission from 400 - 600 nm.
