A common tool used in chemistry labs, biology labs and medical labs are volumetric pipettes. Volumetric pipettes allow for the transport of a measured volume of fluid. Commonly used to dilute various reagents and specimens, as well as perform titrations, these glass pipettes are a key component to every day work in laboratories.
Volumetric pipettes feature an open-ended bulb in the middle which holds a large portion of the fluid. The upper portion is a straight tube with a mark identifying the filling point. Class A Glass Volumetric Pipette (To Deliver)
Offered in sizes ranging from a 1 ml to 100 ml, these glass reusable pipettes are made from borosilicate glass, and conform to USP Type 1 & ASTM E438, Type 1 Class A requirements. When completing quantitative measurements, it is ideal to be working with Class A glassware, like these. Labeled 'TD' meaning 'To Deliver', indicates this precision pipette is designed to deliver the amount of fluid shown. When the liquid has been released from the pipette, there should still remain a small sampling in the tip. It is important that this liquid not be blasted out. The pipette has been calibrated to deliver the exact amount, within +/- 0.01 ml, the proper amount will be dispensed if the side of the tip is touched to the inside wall of the container the liquid is being released into. Class A Glass Volumetric Pipette (To Deliver/To Contain)
This reusable glass volumetric pipette is offered in sizes ranging from 1 ml to 25 ml, and uniquely serves as a pipette that both contains (bottom line), and delivers (top line), to Class A tolerances. The 'To Contain' feature accommodates the use of viscous fluids, wherein the contents will be entirely washed out, while the 'To Deliver' feature, as explained above, will leave a small sampling in the tip of the pipette. These glass pipettes are color coded for easy identification, and are designed from ASTM specification E969, Class A requirements, and manufactured from 51 expansion borosilicate glass, conforming to USP Type 1 & ASTM E438, type 1 class B requirements. Class B Glass Volumetric Pipettes
This general purpose pipette is one of the more commonly used volumetric pipettes in laboratory work. It is designed from ASTM specification E969, Class B requirements, manufactured from 33 expansion, low extractable borosilicate glass, conforming to USP Type I and ASTM E438, Type I Class A requirements. This reusable pipette features heavy walls, which lessen mechanical breakage when heat is applied, as well as, a colored band marked at the top of each pipette, to help with identification and sorting.
